Novi Osight C i Osight K: Pregled i usporedba sa sličnim Holosun crvene točke

Compact pistol optics just got two new contenders: Osight C and Osight K. If you’re already familiar with Holosun’s naming (the “C” family like 407C/507C and the “K” family like 407K/507K), Osight’s new models map neatly onto the same use-cases—and footprints—making upgrades and comparisons straightforward.

*Note: I also made a video on this topic. You can find at the bottom of this article.Osight C vs Osight K

Quick take: what’s new with Osight C & Osight K?

Osight C

  • RMR-footprint red dot for full-size and compact pistols.
  • Multi-reticle (3 MOA dot, 32 MOA circle, or both) with a side-loading battery.
  • In my opinion first “alternative to Holosun 507C.”

Osight K

  • RMSc / Holosun K-series footprint red dot for slim/compact pistols.
  • 6 MOA dot, motion-activation, side-loading battery.
  • In my opinion first “alternative to Holosun 407K”

Fitment & footprint (the thing that matters most)

Osight C uses the RMR footprint. The same base standard used by Holosun’s “C” family (407C/507C). That means slides, plates, and mounts that take RMR/407C/507C generally apply to Osight C as well.

*See details about the RMR footprint here - maybe you have matching mount, and are not even aware of it.

Trijicon RMR footprint

Osight K uses the RMSc designed for micro/EDC pistols. That is not exactly the same footprint as Holosun 407K/507K uses, but the dimensions of the footpritn is the same. Only the Shield RMSc footprint is much more common. So in this way, the Osight K has even a slight advantage: If your slide is cut for RMSc footprint, Osight K is the natural fit.

*Again, if you are not sure if your optics ready pistol may be equipped with Shield RMSc footprint, check the dimensions of the footprint here: Shield RMSc footprint standard.

Shield RMSc footprint

**The footprint difference between Osight K and Holosun 507K leads us to the first difference. While you can install red dot with Shield RMSc footpritn to Holosun K-series footprint, you cannot do it vice versa. So that gives the Osight slight advantage. Why? Because you can simply install it to both - to Shield RMSc and to Holosun K-series mounts and plates. While you can only install Holosun 507K to plates and mounts with K-series footprint.

Window & size category

We need to make sure we compare apples with apples, and peaches with peaches. So I will only compare Osight C with Holosun 507C. And Osight K with Holosun 507K.

Osight K and Osight C

Size Category

  • Full-size / duty & competition: Osight C ↔ Holosun 507C/407C (RMR footprint).
  • Micro / slimline carry: Osight K ↔ Holosun 407K/507K (RMSc/K-series footprint).

Window size

"C" models

  • Osight C = 24 x 19 mm
  • Holosun 507C = 23 x 16 mm

"K" models

  • Osight K = 21 x 14 mm
  • Holosun 507K = 19 x 14 mm

Reticles at a glance

Osight C multi-reticle

"C" models

  • Osight C: 3 MOA dot, 32 MOA circle, or both
  • Holosun 507C: 2 MOA dot, 32 MOA circle, or both

"K" models

  • Osight K: 6 MOA dot
  • Holosun 507K: (6 MOA)

Power & controls

Battery

  • Side-loading batteries on both Osight models, so you don’t have to remove the optic to swap cells (no re-zero hassle). Osight C uses CR1632; Osight K uses CR1620. Both offer motion-sensor wake and auto-sleep. The battery tray is even better incorporated into the body of the red dot, when it comes to Osight.
  • Holosun C/K families also feature side trays on both many models and “shake-awake,”.

Controls

  • Here I think Osight has slight advantage, the buttons are larger and more convenient for use.

Pricing

Here Osight has main advantage. The Osight red dots are considerably cheaper. Depending on the local market and distribution chains, the price difference can be up to 50% when it comes to the similar categories of both red dots: Osight C vs Holosun 507C, as well as Osight K vs Holosun 507K.

*Merchant's note

At Optics Spot we make our living from selling red dots. Our point is to offer only red dots that work well so that we do not have to be dealing with any warranty issues. From this perspective both Osight and Holosun are perfect fits. Except of few "unfortunate" pieces that had some issue from the box, both of these red dots just keep working.

Who should pick which?

Choose Osight C if you want…

  • Larger window and RMR-pattern compatibility for duty/competition or full-size pistols.
  • Multi-reticle (dot / circle / circle-dot) at a budget-friendly price point.

Choose Osight K if you want…

  • Smaller body and window with smaller footprint, ideal for slim carry guns.
  • Simple bold 6 MOA dot that pops fast on presentation for defensive distances.

Bottom line

If you’ve been eyeing a budget-friendly alternative in familiar footprints, Osight C (RMR) and Osight K (RMSc) slot in exactly where Holosun’s “C” and “K” families live.

  • Pick Osight C for a bigger window and multi-reticle flexibility;
  • Pick Osight K for a slim, fast 6 MOA carry optic.

Either way you’ll keep the conveniences users love—side-loading batteries and motion-wake—without having to change your mounting ecosystem.
